This is an awesome and Very RARE Vintage DISNEY Store Mickey Mouse Large Big Fig Store Display Figure, comprised of painted fiberglass resin, with its original use being a store display at the widely successful Disney Store during the late 1980's - 1990's. Mickey Mouse is crouching or bowing at the waist, with his arms outstretched and his body leaning forward, and he is mounted on a painted wooden base. This figure was likely placed high up on the top of a shelf in The Disney Store, waving down at customers, or perhaps he may have been a window display. This particular figure is exceptionally scarce, and I cannot find any comparable pieces to this one which have ever been offered for sale online. Mickey's crouching height is approximately 15 1/2 inches tall (including base.) The base is 19 inches wide x 1 1/4 inches tall, and this figure measures from hand to hand 27 inches in width. Its height (as it is posed in Photo 1) is approximately 33 1/2 inches. Good condition for decades of age and storage, with moderate scratching, scuffing, paint loss, and edge wear throughout (please see photos.) Acquired from an old collection in Long Beach, California. Boxed, for the past 25 years.Donald loses control in this spectacular limited edition bronze sculpture, originally produced by the great sculptor Bruce Lau from a Carl Barks design. Created for the 1996 Disneyana Convention, this long-sold out piece is numbered 43 for of only 150 made. Measuring approximately 9" x 6" with a height of 9", this rare piece has the signature of Carl Barks incised into the rug. The piece is ironically title "Self Control", based on the 1938 theatrical short of the same name. Weighing a massive 17 pounds, this sculpture and its marble base are in Excellent condition. Most of these statues seem to suffer from the same poor assembly design. The way in which the vase that Donald is balancing upon is affixed to the base by one thin rod and a poorly executed weld. Often, Donald is loosely attached to the vase, wobbling with movement, which becomes worse with time and movement. That design flaw was remedied on this piece, invisibly, from the inside of the base. Donald's attachment to the vase and the vase's attachment to the base made stronger by additional bolts and weld a definite improvement on the assembly. This was done internally and is unnoticeable externally, other than unlike all the others I've seen, this now all feels like a solid piece of bronze without a trace of being loose and wobbling.
