Disney World Sign
CollectionHero
Disney World Sign "The Greenhouse" from Main Street in Disney World, Collectible "Disneyana", Real Disney World Park Main St Sign, Disney World 70's Vintage. Disney World Main Street business sign up for auction! This auction is for one Disney World Main Street Sign. It still has it's original paint, exactly as it was when it was removed from Disney World. I bought this sign from a Florida auction house years ago for my business. I had it hanging in an interior location, protected from weather and sun for all of the time I had the sign until about a month ago. It was in my business for around 15-18 years, but now it's time to find it a new home. The sign was originally located on Main Street in Disney World. There was a small side street offset from Main Street called the "Flower Market" where some outdoor vendors sold flowers and other Disney items, and it was a popular spot for the barbershop quartet or small brass bands to perform. There were often old vehicles parked there on display as well. The side street was on the right side as you walked down Main Street toward Cinderella's Castle. Many people will remember the fresh flower carts and old cars that were next to it. This is a real, legit Disney World Main Street sign.Because it was built by the Disney "Imagineers", this sign matches all of the other signs on Disney's Main St. Although it says 'The Greenhouse', it was the name of a shop facing into the side street, and the outdoor vendor / flower shop area on Disney's Main Street. As I mentioned, the sign has 100% Disney paint on it. You might notice that in the 1st image (taken on Main St in Disney World), the upper and lower borders are both the same green as the background of the sign face- one of the last images taken at a later date shows the sign from a side angle with the off-white borders, so Disney themselves changed the border colors at some point long before the sign was taken down. I've never touched it up, it's still 100% the original Disney paint and colors exactly as I bought it right after it was removed (Disney green and off-white, with their usual Disney font type for the lettering). There is no paint peeling or loss anywhere other than small surface scuffs or scratches. I had it on display mounted on a wall in my business for the last 15-18 years, and I left it as is. I assume this was on Main Street on the day Disney World originally opened for business, and it was there for many years before they expanded "The Emporium", and other shops and got rid of the small side street where this sign was originally located. It's strange, but as the years progressed, and we visited every year, we never noticed the side street disappear- but I do remember it being there Measurements: This is a real outdoor commercial quality heavy duty business sign, built by the Disney Imagineers team. It's made to be outdoor weather-proof. I'd guess it's weight at somewhere around 150-170 lbs. In full it measures: 86-1/2" from end to end in total length, 35" tall from the bottom to the top of the 4x4 end pieces, and 33-1/2" tall in the center of the sign, from top to bottom border. Pretty much normal size for a business sign. It's made out of wood, fiberglass and maybe some metal- very solid- very heavy- not shabbily built or loose anywhere at all. Very professionally built, as you'd expect from Disney. The side posts measure 4" x 4", and could easily be topped with wood 4x4 finials (fence post finials) that you can find at Lowes and Home Depot, which would give it a very 'finished' look. You could also mount the sign freestanding on 4x4 posts or flat on a wall like I've had it for the last 18 years. "The Greenhouse" logo is painted on one side only- the other side is completely painted the same glossy colors but without the logo. My story about how I ended up with this sign is that I was raised a "Disney kid". My family went to Disney World for vacation every year in early spring for a couple of weeks starting right after Disney World in Florida opened, up through the late 80's. I was strongly influenced by the hydroponics display in "The Land" at Epcot, and I opened my hydroponics / gardening business because of the impact it had on me. So when a gardening related Disney sign came up for auction a few years after I had opened my business, my sister brought it to my attention, and I bought it, and I've had it ever since. It was always interesting to tell people the story behind the sign. I was lucky enough to have a few newspaper or website articles written about my business over the years, and I always used the sign as my backdrop, and it made for a really good story explaining the origin of my business. When I originally bought the sign, I had a picture of the sign hanging on Main Street in Disney, but I lost it on an old computer long ago, and I haven't been able to find that picture since I decided to offer the sign for sale. I searched around online, and found a couple of images of the sign while it was still in Disney hanging on Main Street in 1971, the best one is the first image shown. That picture is this actual sign- this sign- on Main Street in Disney World, there was only one, and this is it! **I found a couple more images showing the Flower Market area, and in those images you can see "The Greenhouse" sign from an angle, or at a great distance. If someone reads this and happens to have another 'early Disney' picture of "The Greenhouse" sign in the background behind someone posing for pictures by the flower displays, I'd really appreciate a copy of it so I can add it to this eBay auction! There are definitely more pictures out there! Please look closely at the pictures- in addition to my description, they convey the condition in as much detail as possible. There are some small scratches and scuffs here and there that could be touched up or not, but overall it's 100% solid, and in great shape! There is no major damage anywhere on the sign- no cracks, no deep dents, no loose parts, no paint loss, no loose paint, no major separation anywhere. It's never been dropped or anything, it's still exactly as it was when it was removed from Main St in Disney World. It's a seriously heavy-duty sign, better than if you went to a sign shop to have a sign custom made. I'd guess if you went to a sign shop, it would be very expensive to make a custom sign of this level of quality,(and it would probably be made out of some delicate foam type product, as most signs are now). If you have a business, you know that signs are expensive, and it's hard to find anything "different", especially with a good story behind it!***The first image is of the sign while it was hanging on Main Street in Disney World in 1971. The second image is of the Ice Cream Parlor on the corner (same side of the street)- if you look closely at the ice cream sign (or any other signs on Main Street), you'll see it's designed and built pretty much exactly the same as this one. The 3rd image is the flower cart area where the sign was, but you can't see the sign in that image. After that are current images of the sign now, taken within the last couple of weeks. The last images are of the Flower Market, and you can kind of see the sign in the background SHIPPINGI custom made a very solid double-sized wood pallet to hold the sign secure, and avoid any damage during shipping. Before the sign ships, I'll completely box the sign in with wood and packing materials to protect it during transport. It will have to be moved by truck, and you'll probably want a lift-gate to be sure it's handled gently as it's being unloaded (unless you can arrange a trucking height dock to receive it). If you're anywhere near Michigan, we could load the sign into the back of a full-sized pickup if you're willing to make the drive. Buyer will pay 100% of the truck shipping charge unless you're close enough to pick it up. I'm OK with the buyer arranging shipping, or I have some experience with trucking companies too. I'd guess (total guess) the shipping charge with a lift-gate will be around $175-$400 depending on where you're located in the US (how far from Michigan). eBay lists the shipping as $175, but please be clear- whatever the shipping charge ends up being (with your input), it will be the responsibility of the buyer. I'm open to suggestions regarding transport. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for your Plants, Flowers, Nursery, Greenhouse, or "medicinal plant" related business, or your own personal greenhouse! Adding the sign to a Disney collection also seems like a good possibility! The sign is currently being stored indoors until it ships. You may never see this sign again- Don't let it get away!!!Bring part of Disney World's Main Street to your home or business!!! It gave me good luck! (Condition: Pre-Owned)

WDCC Mary Poppins Bert Penguins Figurines (LE700) & Jolly Holiday Table Set-EUC
CollectionHero
In 1964 Walt Disney Productions released Mary Poppins, a whimsical, lighthearted movie based on the stories written by P.L. Travers. It became an instant classic and has continued to be viewed and loved by each succeeding generation. Set in the turn of the last century, who couldn’t love a movie about dancing, singing penguins, magical merry go rounds and lovable characters. One of the most memorable and magical moments in the movie was the “Jolly Holiday” scene, where the Banks children follow Mary Poppins and Bert into a sidewalk chalk drawing and emerge onto the only animated portion of the movie, where the background is animated but the main characters are live. These WDCC pieces are from the scene where Bert and Mary make their way to a cafe run by the four penguins: Mary is preparing to step forward - her back foot is slightly raised - and Bert, always the gentleman, holds her hand to maintain her balance, while the excitable penguins are waiting to serve them. Walt Disney Classic Collections commemorated the scene in February, 2001 with a special limited edition, back-stamped set of 700 consisting of Mary Poppins, Bert, and the four penguins - three together and one separate. All have a special back-stamp “A Bit Of Magic” and “1964” on the bottom of each piece and the storage boxes have an additional embossed gold label. The metal, filigreed table and two-chair set comes with a plastic table top decorated with two plates, a salt and pepper shaker, sugar bowl and vase of flowers; these - along with the seat cushions - are all made of resin. Each of the limited edition pieces have the feather production mark as they were created in 2000 and the table and chair set has the butterfly production mark as it was created in 2001. All of the Mary Poppins pieces in this collection were retired in 2002. The pieces are all in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or color fading, the storage boxes for the limited edition set have been kept in the original packing box so are also in very good condition, as is the box containing the table and chair set. I’m also including a cloisonné pin from Paradise Pier Hotel’s “Practically Perfect Tea with Mary Poppins” which we attended in the early 2000s - just because . . . (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Raised in Colorado, Chris Sanders fell in love with animation at the age of ten after seeing Ward Kimball animated shorts on 'The Wonderful World of Disney'. He began drawing, and applied to Cal Arts after his grandmother told him about the animation program at the school. He majored in character animation, and graduated in 1984, moving on to work at Marvel Comics. Sanders joined Walt Disney Feature Animation in 1987 as the first person hired into Feature Animation’s newly formed visual development department. His first project at Disney was The Rescuers Down Under, where he started as part of the visual development team before making the transition to the story department. He repeated that pattern on Beauty and the Beast, for which he storyboarded several sequences, including the Beast’s death and magnificent resurrection. Following Beauty and the Beast, Sanders developed new concepts for Disney's Fantasia 2000, but was quickly drawn into The Lion King as the film’s production designer. For The Lion King, he worked on the design sensibilities for sequences that were a departure from the film’s main style, including the “I Just Can't Wait to Be King” song sequence and Mufasa’s ghost. For the 1998 Disney animated feature, Mulan, Sanders lent his talents as co-head of story and screenwriter. His work on that film earned him two Annie Awards in the storyboarding and screenwriting categories. For the next step in Sanders’ distinguished animation career as an artist, designer and story supervisor, Sanders made his directorial debut on Lilo & Stitch. Starting with his own, original idea, Sanders guided Lilo & Stitch through all stages of its creative journey from story sketch to the screen in his role as screenwriter director (along with Dean DeBlois). Demonstrating yet another facet of his talent, Sanders also provided the voice of the mischievous title alien, Stitch. After 20 successful and inspired years at Disney Animation, Sanders recently moved to Dreamworks Animation where he is currently directing his next animated feature film. An avid outdoor adventurer, Sanders resides in Los Angeles where he enjoys spending time with his daughter. It is loosely based on the legendary hero Heracles (known in the film by his Roman name, Hercules), a son of Zeus in Greek mythology. The film was directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, both of whom also produced the film with Alice Dewey Goldstone. The screenplay was written by Clements, Musker, Donald McEnery, Bob Shaw, and Irene Mecchi. Featuring the voices of Tate Donovan, Danny DeVito, James Woods, and Susan Egan, the film follows the titular Hercules, a demigod with super-strength raised among mortals, who must learn to become a true hero in order to earn back his godhood and place in Mount Olympus, while his evil uncle Hades plots his downfall. Here's a little about the Walt Disney Classics Collection from their website:The Classics Collection started in 1992 with three scenes, Bambi, Cinderella, and Fantasia's Sorcerer Apprentice. Many other series have since been introduced. Some figurines are limited, and some have been retired. Some of these figurines have risen high on the secondary market. The figurines are made of porcelain, and the process is similar to that use to make Hummel figurines. Individual pieces are molded, put together, and fired in an oven. Then they are painted and fired again. Each figurine is marked on the bottom, signifying the year it was produced. The marks represent significant milestones in Disney history. The figurines with the first year mark are usually the most desirable. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Piece has been hand signed lead animator (and voice of Stitch) Chris Sanders and writer Dean Debois and the voice of Lilo.... Davigh Chase. What a great piece! Includes the Original Disney Certificate of Authenticity BIO: Christopher Sanders (born March 12, 1962) is an American film animator and voice actor best known for co-directing the Disney animated feature Lilo & Stitch, and providing the voice of Experiment 626 from Lilo & Stitch and Leroy from Disney's Leroy & Stitch. IRON STUDIOS Disney Pixar Monsters Inc. DELUXE 1/10 Tenth Scale Statue Diorama Ready to break the record of the biggest amount of scream energy collected, the monsters James P. “Sulley” Sullivan and his partner Mike Wazowski, pose happily next to their complex system of scream extractor machines, in front of a closet door that leads to the bedroom of the sweet and cute Mary Gibbs, better known as Boo, a curious and innocent 2-years-old human girl that doesn’t appear to be afraid of the duo and with whom she created strong emotional bonds. With Boo next to them disguised with a homemade monster costume, and their treacherous rival Randall Boggs behind, Iron Studios present the diorama statue "Monsters Inc Diorama - Disney Classics 100 Years – Deluxe Art Scale 1/10", with the trio of main protagonists and their greatest enemy, from another memorable and praised animated feature film by Disney Pixar Animation Studios. Another big box-office success adding to the line of statues celebrating the 100th anniversary of Disney by Iron Studios. In a different dimension, in a world inhabited by monsters, the big city of Monstropolis has as main energy source the screams of human children. In the Monsters, Inc. power company, the most skilled monsters are employed as scarers. Through portals that connect their world to the closet doors of children, they adventure themselves to the human world to collect their screams via a mechanical system. Sulley, a big blue-fur monster, and his cyclopean and spherical partner Mike, are among the main workers in this organization, and their rival Randall Boggs, a lizard- chameleon monster plans to revolutionize the fear industry by kidnapping human children. One night after work, Sulley discovers that someone left a door opened, and while he inspects it, a small girl passes by the portal in her closet and enters the factory. Before being able to return the girl to her room, the villain Randall sends her door back to the warehouse. Since the world of monsters believe that children are toxic, Sulley and Mike must return the girl they have named Boo home before anyone finds her out. Released in 2001, Monsters, Inc. was the fourth feature film produced by Pixar Animation Studios, and its prequel, Monsters University, released in 2013, set in Mike and Sulley college years, tells the story of how they both became friends and got their jobs. The Monsters Inc.
